Technically, I *am* root for the home team. Weird, huh?
(I need a new pun here, huh...)

things that I and Costanza are good at.

when i first got my job working in the business side of professional baseball, the "Hey, you're George Costanza!" jokes were plentiful. Except from my college friends who know Tom, cause he actually is.

For what it's worth, George Costanza works for the Yankees, I work for the league. I just root for the Yankees. You knew that.

However, I've recently noticed/had-pointed-out-to-me that, like George, I'm also fiercely proud of my ability to parallel park, even though i really only drive a few times a year.

The other day, Maggie brought her car into the city after she and her roommate had been off to IKEA (is that spelled in all caps? "Ikea" doesn't look right). Before heading back to Jersey to drop the car off again, we were gonna get dinner, so we needed to stash the car someplace. After sharking around for about 20 minutes, I finally found a spot someone had just pulled out of, and in the midst of oncoming traffic, with other cars parked on both sides, i managed to get the car into a spot with about 8 inches to spare on either bumper. With just one warm-up approach.

As we got out of the car, and examined my work, a woman who'd been sitting on the steps of her apartment nearby (and shaking her head) said "Wow... nice job!"

I refrained from an end-zone dance, but mentally high-fived myself. The phrase "tighter than a mosquito's sphincter" may also have been muttered.

I do it for the fans, really.
