Ducks

A  week or two  ago, I explained to Maggie what 'ducks on the pond' meant, with
respect to baseball.  This was prompted by a duck-themed graphic animation
on the matrix displays at Yankees Stadium after the Yanks had loaded the
bases.

(things like this -- strange-when-you-think-about-them expressions,  and
sports terms -- account for the bulk of the remaining gaps in my cute immigrant
girlfriend's English )

Anyway... Weschester has lots of geese that populate it, and my train just
passed a ball diamond  in the north Bronx with probably 60 canadian geese on
it... Wish i'd had my camera ready.
