My newest TV addiction, I think.

Saw "Dead Like Me" on Showtime (when I damn well felt like watching it, 'cause in NYC we have "on demand", which rules.)... The deal is, they're grim reapers, who collect the souls of people who're about to die, and then meet up at the diner for waffles.

Good concept, and fairly well produced... it's premise provides a pretty much bottomless well of script possibilities, too, so hopefully it won't get all stale and Dawson's Creeky on us too soon.

Plus it's got the curly-haired actress from that movie I saw on the plane, "Pipe Dream", and Mandy Patinkin, a.k.a. Inigo Montoya from Princess bride, who i've always thought gave the same goofy performance in every role, but it's an enjoyable goofy.

I'll be constantly waiting for the scene where he does "My name is Inigo Montoya, You Killed my father, but I knew you were gonna do that, he was my 3:45 appointment."

Addendum: I didn't know this before consulting the IMDB, but the show was apparently inspired the Piers Anthony novel "On a Pale Horse", which I've actually read and enjoyed. The guy in that book acted alone, though and had a rad horse who could turn into a sportscar to be less conspicuous.

um since when is "Dawson's Creeky" a way to describe stale?
